After working with children as a caretaker for over 10 years, I decided in April 2020 to take the leap into the birth work industry as a trained Newborn Care Specialist. With each new family I was given the opportunity to work with it became more and more clear to me that this was my calling, this is my purpose. While working with new mothers and fathers, I quickly realized that babies are not the only ones who need special care and attention, parents also need specific support as well, which led me to complete my Postpartum Doula training in April of 2021.
My husband and I live a quiet life on our small ranch in the Morongo Basin. We love to spend our time at the beach or exploring our local mountains and desert hiking trails with our chihuahua. I have a passion for caring for my loved ones, cooking healthy (and not so healthy!) meals for my family and friends.
A postpartum doula is someone who provides physical, emotional and informational support to a new mother and their family during the postpartum period, typically from birth until the end of the fourth trimester.
A newborn care specialist provides expertise in all aspects of newborn care, parental education and support. They care for the newborns while providing guidance and education to the parents. While the parents rest, the newborn care specialist feeds the baby or brings the baby to the mother for nursing; burps, changes, soothes, and puts the baby back to bed.
